Bonjour les parents!

I just wanted to send you a Happy New Year and hope you had a great Christmas break. I have not been well, so that is the reason for the delay in my update.

French:
We are continuing to work on Passé Composé, which can be quite tricky. We are practicing a lot and the students have websites that they can practice with as well. Our test will be January 23rd.
The test is to identify those that will need extra help with this concept. Next week we will be writing a recall in this tense, and this is how I will evaluate them.

Social Studies: We are continuing our Autochtones and Explorers unit, focusing now on Europe and the reasons for exploration. Then we will be focusing on the relationship between the two groups, advantages and disadvantages.

Arts:
I will be assessing Drama this term. We looked at the expectations in the curriculum and are having fun with our skits.

Deuxième Semaine Déjà

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Back to work already! A few forms have gone home this evening with the students, please read them and send them back. One is for use of technology and how to use it properly. We do a lot of work on Technology so I am allowing students to bring in their own tablet or chromebook/ computer IF IT IS OK WITH YOU! There is no pressure at all to bring one in, only mentioning this to make you aware that I do allowed outside technology in the class.  That being said, if students do not use this appropriately they will not be allowed to use it. Also it is THEIR RESPONSABILITY to care for it. I would also just like to remind you that gum is not allowed to be chewed at school. I have had to ask many students several times to get rid of it. Please don't allow them to even bring it to school, stops the temptation  Another  reminder that we are doing a boomerang lunch so all garbage goes home, unless it can be recycled or go in the compost (

French Tests and Progress Reports

Bonjour les parents! I hope you had a wonderful Hallowe'en and you get to sneak some candy from your children ;) Just wanted to let you know that the progress reports will be heading home today with your children. I have already explained to your children that we have been working on Collaboration and Organization. They have marked themselves on these skills. E's are very difficult to get in the first term as it means they have performing and demonstrating these skills EVERY DAY! It is also good for them to have room for improvement. For the French I have evaluated only their speaking and oral French. Either progressing very well, progressing well (which ranges from a B to a C) and progressing very difficulty.  If you have any questions please don't hesitate and I am hoping to meet with most of you next Wednesday night ( for my homeroom), If you wish to meet with me outside that time please email me.
